Privacy Policy

The Short Version

NJ RIDES has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. Everything you save lives on your own device. Nothing you do in the app is tied to who you are.

What Stays On Your Device

• Saved trips, routes, stops, and alerts
• Your alert settings and app preferences
• Ride stats, if you use My Stats, which you can clear at any time

None of this is sent to us or to anyone else.

What Reaches A Server

Like any map app, NJ RIDES loads maps and live data over the internet. The servers involved see the ordinary technical details of any web request, such as an IP address, and nothing more from us:

• Map tiles from CARTO, with map data from OpenStreetMap contributors
• Live vehicle positions and schedules from each transit operator's public feeds, some through our own relay
• Stop photos from Google Street View
• Address search from OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service

We do not send these services your name, your saved places, or anything that identifies you.

The Contact Form

If you write to the developer through the contact form, we receive what you type, plus your name and email only if you choose to include them. Messages are used to answer you and improve the app, and for nothing else.

Location

If you allow location access, your position is used on your device to center the map, find nearby stops, and power the alerts you set. Your location is never stored by us or sent to our servers.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new date.
